For example, the Small Business Development Center provides technical assistance from QuickBooks training to business training and planning for growth with their Leading Edge program. Economic Incentives and Financial Assistance
Colorado’s pro-business stance makes our state one of the most attractive locations in the world for companies like yours to operate. From loans to grants, tax credits to property tax reductions, a variety of incentives exist to reduce the costs of expanding your operations.

The City of Monte Vista has an Economic Development Assistance Policy to provide incentives for the retention and expansion of existing businesses within the city. The policy contains criteria and guidelines for certain economic development assistance or incentives not to exceed $50,000 for businesses meeting the following requirements:
- That the business aligns with community goals and consumer needs
- That the business is a priority business (i.e., provides primary employment, such as manufacturing and light industry; retail; culture and social facilities that house and promote the arts, sciences, history and provide positive social setting for families)
- That the business demonstrates notable financial and managerial capabilities to be sustainable
